Spa-like Contemporary Bathroom Design

Just a touch of stainless steel is all this contemporary bathroom design needs, and the niche above the bathtub is the perfect spot. Cool, pale blue tiles, white vanity sinks and bathrub, with a dash of wood and a few natural accents all combine to create a calm, spa-like atmosphere.

Luxurious Master Bathroom Design with Fireplace

Imagine unwinding at the end of a long day in this elegant, traditional-style master bathroom. Soak up the heat from the bathtub and the fireplace. This bathroom is anything but cold. From the warm color of the painted walls to the satiny texture and soft finish of the ceramic tile, everything about this space is welcoming.

Contemporary Bathroom Design with Unique Tiling Effect

This bathroom design demonstrates an excellent use of space. Placing the bathtub and the shower in the corners leaves the center open for traffic. Colors from the slate floor tiles have been repeated in the wood finish on the wall-mounted vanity and the woven blinds. Don't miss the fun tiling effect on the front of the bathtub!

Traditional-Style Elegant Bathroom Design

You may not have the space or resources to build such an extravagant master bathroom, but you can certainly inject similar elements into your space to reproduce the luxurious feeling of this room. A monochromatic color scheme, ceramic tile laid diagonally, an ornate mirror, and some potted plants will take you a long way with a minimal investment.

Spacious Contemporary Bathroom Design

This contemporary bathroom design is all about space. Low benches and a bathtub installed at floor level eliminate visual obstructions. Long, horizontally-mounted mirrors reflect the light from windows and skylights to virtually enlarge the space. The theme is continued with shallow bathroom sinks mounted on a floating shelf.

Inviting Bench in Elegant Traditional Bathroom Design

Elegant is the best word to describe this beautiful, traditional bathroom design. Architectural details give a furniture-like appearance to each vanity. The tufted bench looks very inviting. From the marble tile on the floor and countertops, to the formal window treatments with their generous amounts of fabric, this bathroom breathes refinement.

Dilapidated Outhouse

You know it's time for a bathroom remodel when everything starts leaning in the wrong direction. Perhaps you should start with the floor and move up from there. Some new fixtures might be nice - a toilet that flushes, a new bathroom vanity for extra storage. Try improving ventilation with a bathroom exhaust fan. Even small changes make big differences.

Contemporary Bathroom Design with Bathtub Focal Point

Tile in a subdued, muted tone provides a gorgeous backdrop for the fixtures in this light-filled contemporary bathroom. The unique bathtub is the focal point of the design. Set in the centre of the space, it can easily be admired from all angles. Everything else is kept low-key and very minimal.

Bathroom Design with Old-word Charm and Modern Convenience

Old-world charm and modern convenience - this bathroom design appears to have both. A modern jacuzzi bathtub with vintage-look taps is placed alongside an antique chaise lounge and a vanity resembling a piece of well-worn furniture. Notice the attention to detail in the intricate tiling patterns and the subtle stencilling on the walls.

Open and Airy Contemporary Bathroom Design

Layers of lighting help this contemporary bathroom design shine. The rich, dark red floor is a terrific complement to the green mosaic tile in the walk-in shower. The placement of the shower gives a little extra privacy to the toilet area. Clear glass shower doors and a wall-mounted, blonde wood vanity lend an open and airy feel to the space.

Bathroom Design with Vintage Appeal

Many of today's homeowners choose to remodel their bathrooms in a style reminiscent of the past. Clawfoot bathtubs have regained popularity and are now manufactured in light-weight acrylic as opposed to the original heavy cast iron. Add a pedestal sink, reproduction faucets and some wainscotting to bring the look together.

Contemporary Bathroom Design with Unique Curved Shower

A bathtub tucked in beneath the corner windows and a curved walk-in shower make efficient use of the space in this contemporary bathroom design. The curve of the shower eliminates the need for a shower door. A simple wall-mounted faucet and undermounted bathroom sink allow for a little more space on the countertop.

walk in shower
I am looking to build a shower with no door and no curb, a open flowing shower, Thanks
There shouldn't be a problem
There shouldn't be a problem doing this project, provided that you have the space are willing to do the work. There are a few important things to consider, let's start with the space issue. to build a shower as you described, well are you doing it in a smaller bathroom for hanidcap access, or just to have an open shower? An open shower can be done in a small room but you need to consider splash and any possible water damage. Another thing to consider is the work involved, you will need the floor to pitch towards the drain. Having a curb not only stops the water from running out of the shower but also allows you to raise the the outside edges of the floor to pitch it in. To accomplish this pitch without any curb or transition you would have either to plan for it in a new construction situation or you willl need to get into your floor joists. Which leads us to the question what level is this bath on and what is below it? feel to e-mail me for further questions. This project is certianlly one that would bring great satisfaction, but like everything if it's going to be great it will take work!

flooring choice
I have a dark vanity and burlywood granite. Everything else is white. I wanted to put a very dark tile on the floor. It is Daltile City view color cy07 Village Cafe. The vanity is a contemporary dark java and the top has spects of gray, black and a maroon to pinky color. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on my floor choice. Thank you, Robin

Clawfoot Tub Pictures
If you're tossing around the idea of doing a bathroom remodel, definitely make sure to browse through this section of clawfoot bathtub pictures.

The beauty of these tubs are timeless, and are not necessarily only for period style bathrooms. They can easily be combined with a more contemporary bathroom design for a eye-catching and well received look.
Traditional Bath
I love the elegant traditional bath with the fireplace. Is there anyway to get a floor plan of the bath, paint color, tile etc. We are building a new bath and would love to have one like or similar to it.
glass tile in picture
Does anyone know what brand of tile is in the picture with the curved walk in shower? - it is exactly what I have been looking for! Thanks
times have changed
I found this VERY interesting!!! I really liked the FIREPLACE IN THE BATHROOM & the OLD OUTHOUSE. I think those two photos could be used to teach little children how times have changed and that they shouldn't take simple things like a "toilet" for granted. I remember USING one of those "outhouses". I'm not fortunate enough to have a "FIREPLACE IN THE BATH" but Thank GOD I am blessed to have an INDOOR bath. I like knowing and seeing how things "were". It helps me to appreciate what I have "now".
steam showers
Try wasuana.com. They have good steam showers.
Steam showers
I enjoyed this article immensely! I especially like the the idea of putting an elegant bench in the bathroom, it sure beat sitting on the potty lid to dry your feet! I'm very interested in putting in a steam shower to help with arthritis pain, so we will be remodeling as soon as I can decide on what I want to do with the rest of the room. I found I nice article on steam showers from a company in Canada at http://wwwnouveaubathrooms.com. Anyone know of any other good brands?
