Jim Newcomb and Steve Showalter Jim Newcomb is a lifelong resident of the Eastern Shore, having been raised on a Talbot County dairy farm. This early experience taught valuable lessons in preventative maintenance and the consequences of neglecting operating systems in regards to electrical, mechanical and plumbing, as well as structural components in the numerous buildings and infrastructures of a modern working dairy. In the military service, Newcomb received additional training and experience on both land installations and shipboard in the fields of plumbing (pipe fitting), electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair. For a number of years Jim worked with a local dairy equipment service and installation company as an on-call service technician. In this position, Newcomb was instrumental in the construction and equipping of numerous new dairy facilities. These installations included not only structural components, but also considerable electrical wiring, as well as plumbing and vacuum systems with fittings and components in a wide range of materials such as copper sweat, galvanized, PVC and CPVC. Since April of 1998, Jim Newcomb has received formal training in home inspection and inspection reporting from Building Specs., Inc., one of only a few nationally
