Hollywood also has largest French-speaking community in the United States, thanks to the French Canadian snowbirds who flock to the city during the winter months. About 300,000 French Canadians migrate to the Greater Fort Lauderdale area every winter, Hollywood being the destination for the majority of them . There are also large West Indian and Romanian populations.
North of Hollywood is the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, portions of which are contained within the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach and Hollywood as well as unincorporated Broward County.
