Do-It-Yourself Drywall Repair - Easily Patch Drywall Holes or Minor Damage

This step-by-step video shows how to repair a hole in your drywall or minor drywall damage. The video starts by showing what tools you'll need, then how to prepare the damaged area to be repaired. Once the damaged area is prepared, the video shows a 'drywaller's trick' to create a patch for the area where the hole was. The video then shows how to properly tape and compound (mud) the new joints, and ends by showing how to sand and finish repair.

Best patch job :)
All the other sites recommend using 2X4's as support, and include many extra steps! Thanks for making this an easy and effective repair, inclusive of a video! Gotta go, I'm off to the hardware store.
Patch Support
Whether or not the patch needs additional support (such as 2x4's) is subject to the size of the hole itself. For a hole of this size, caused by a doorknob or other minor damage, this is by far the best (and most pain-free) way to tackle it. If your drywall damage is 1'x 1' or larger, some extra support will be needed.
