Install Ceramic Tile

Tools Needed for Installing Ceramic Tile Floor

Do you have a floor that you'd like to recover with ceramic tile? The first thing you'll need to do, after choosing your tile pattern and layout, is make sure you have all of the proper tools, equipment and materials needed to do the job right. If you don't have some of these ceramic tile tools, usually you can rent them from a local equipment rental store, or any of the major home improvement chains, such as Home Depot or Lowes. If renting is not an option, you can purchase fairly inexpensively - the most expensive tool will be the wet saw, used for cutting the tiles to shape the pattern to walls, corners and other obstructions. Choosing the right setting compound (adhesive) is critical as well, and will be determined by where and how you want to lay your ceramic tile. This ceramic tile installation was done on a basement concrete floor, but the same principles can be applied for any floor or surface (including a backsplash), with the additional use of a cement backboard for stability and adhesion. Watch all of these videos in order before you start your cermic tile laying project, so that you'll have a complete understanding of what is required before you start.
