Here it is, the consummate modern country kitchen. Having all of the features of a country kitchen, but with accents on things more contemporary, such as the range hood... while covered in the natural country inspired wood-grains, it is highly functional and serves multiple purposes including light, ventilation and personality.

Of course, the main centerpiece of any country kitchen would be the hanging utensil rack. Positioned above the kitchen island (with small sink, to be discussed later!), it is high enough to allow for informal seating around the island, while still making the hanging pots, pans, and spices readily accessible. Have you found the refrigerator? Notice the lack of curtains in this country kitchen? Blinks are used in the place of curtains, hidden behind the valance. Of course cupboard space is maximized wherever possible, and the standard open concept glass cupboard doors provide a larger feel to a busy space.
Ah, the hanging utensil rack. A staple of any country kitchen. In this photo the positioning of this hanging rack allows for ample lighting in the form of ceiling pot lights to illuminate the kitchen. There is so much room on this rack that not only pots and pans are stored, there is room for spices and drying vegetables as well. Not only is this handy, but it lends to the comfortable feelings evoked by the presence of the natural ingredients.

The view from the living room demonstrates how an open concept country kitchen provides a more comfortable feel that extends to the adjoining rooms more easily.

Having a very large cooking area is also a typical feature of a country kitchen. This pic shows that this extra wide stove and oven has multiple cooking areas up top and two areas for baking or broiling. The large open countertop area also lends well to large cooking conferences!
